I have never put much stock in that saying, as it also leads to a rather boring existence. JMO. :)

Depends..... ;-) :cboy: :)

All the good stuff happens after 9:00......on tv, anyway! :D ;-)

I would be nice if we could just get to bed at about 10:00. We have three children and one of these is our precious baby girl, she's one. When she thinks it's bed time is when we go. And she never thinks it's bed time before 10:00. It is 12:40 right now, past midnight. We had a huge bullfight tonight and it took both of us three hours to break it up. We found them at 8:30, and Thomas is still out with rgw cattle now, but at least the other bull is home now. Things like this seem to come our way a lot. But 6:00 in the morning will come to soon. Oh how we wish we could be teenagers again and sleep all day, what a life!

I wish I could have slept all day when I was a teenager.

Next time you have a bull fight - get the camera and take pics.

That will give you something to do while the boys are settling the pecking order.

Leave them be - too darned dangerous to get out there and break something like that up.

No matter what happens - no bull is worth a man and a woman getting pounded trying to stop something that comes naturally to the boys.

It happened here last year - just down the road from a place called Bonville. Insurance company droppped off a nice cheque to the widow.

Most farmers never carry enough insurance - fortunately this one did.

I bet she would have rather the insurance company kept the money and she still had her husband.

First, let me say that at no time in my life did I sleep all day. Went to work at 17 twelve hour days. Wife speaks for herself, but I think that may have been an exaggeration.

Bez, the complications arise from the fact that I can't afford having my small purebred herd polluted by a black bull. I'm raising registered Herefords, and if this black bull manages to catch one of my girls by giving my bull the slip, that is a whole year's worth of genetics lost to a sale barn calf. I was careful-most of the time. It was uncanny how my bull, Hudson, knew that I was on his side and worked with me once I got started.

Thanks for your concern. The owner of the other bull is supposed to move him to another pasture today. I guess all the cattle are bred that are in that one anyway.

Take Care, All.

I know several teenage girl that work with me and two of them told me the other day they never got up till after 11:00. Could you imagin. I guess by there talk this is the normal thing during summer-time. Just wanted to explain myself.

Hmmmmm, I guess I missed that part of being a teen-ager. I was darn near 25 years old before I got to sleep past 6:00 AM, and that was only because I worked 2nd shift.

there's ppl out there that sleep past 6:00??? OMG! oh wait, i know one or two, my sisters. i did get to sleep in this morning i guess, til 6:30.

I think that some of you would be suprised at how many of todays teenagers do sleep till 11:00 or 12:00. I think that some of us has raised a bunch of lazy children. I was just told today by a women I meet that she had left her daughter at home (15 years) while she went to do some chores. She said she didn't have to worry about her because she wouldn't get up until after 11:00. I wonder if a lot of this has to do with some children living in town where they don't have many chores and other children living on the farm where they do have to get up and do chores. I could be wrong about this, what do you think?
Just to let you know my children get up at 7:00 when not in school and 6:30 while in school.

I don't think it's as much to do with what time they get up. Its what they do when they are up. I have a 15 yo girl and a 12 yo son. Today he was out in the hot son helping me set post. He does play video games, but he knows he has things to do beforehand.

That would really be sleeping in for me on a workday.

It looks like you are doing a good job. What you install in them today is what makes the difference tomarrow.

amen. and even if they do sleep in late, a lot of times they stay up later doing productive stuff.

As a farmer and custom applicator I have come to the conclusion that sleep is overrated ;-)

I'm just curious, but what do you custom applicate? With your set of circumstances, you probably have a valid point! ;-)
