Barzonas, where are they now?

Help Support CattleToday:

They (like a lot of breeds) seemed really on the verge of being big around 1990. A guy near Hanceville, AL had a bunch of them and was aggressively marketing bulls. Now it is pretty rare to come across them. Teddie Gentry near Fort Payne, AL has some and they are 25% of his South Poll composite.

20yrs ago teddy gentry was in the reg polled hereford business.
i think it was cause randy did too.. he's branched out on his own for the last several years

Randy and Teddy were originally partners in the cow business as they were partners in the band (in addition to being cousins); but they wanted to go seperate directions with the cows which is why the two ranches are right next to each other. Randy breeds Polled Herefords and Angus. Teddy still has some Polled Herefords (though his are much smaller than Randy's); but also has (or has had) Red Angus, Barzonas, Senepols, and his Teddy Gentry developed South Poll Composite.
