barn blueprints

Help Support CattleToday:

I would say you know your situation so design it yourself. Or are you looking for material sizes etc.?

Check with your extension agent also. Last year I went in to get ideas on barn, and working facilities. He had several books I could get copies from. They also had a program through the university, they sent 2 students out to measure everything, and then draw up plans as part of their class assignment. No cost to me, and had it in 2 weeks. With some neighbor "man" power, I now have a couple pens, a holding area, couple of sorting pens, and in the shed, there is a tub, and chute with scale, squeeze, palp cage, etc. Most of it was made from railroad ties, and the rings from grain bins, with gates welded on pipes that are in the ground to crowd the cattle into the chute.

How exactly did you utilize the rings from grain bins in your set up?
