problem with lots of algae - so I tried floating barley pads in the water troughs, works great on the algae. Cattle drinking the water with no hesitation. Been using them for about 3 wks.

My question is, the barley pads were intended for ponds, is there any known harm to cattle drinking the water.

NothernTool.com has them on page 261 2007 master cat.

item # 265615-1707
3 ea 7" pads supposed to treat 2100 ga; for 4 months, or 700 gal all year $8.95 .
I just ordered some to see if they work.

Thanks- If you put them in a 300 gal tank- would the cattle eat them?

I'm visualizing a chunk of straw glued together :)

Petsolutions is cheaper to buy from

I also buy the floating frames - the cattle don't bother them, they don't even play with them. seems to make a big difference in the algae.
