***** I asked before, and must have missed your answer. Why is there an age at which a heifer is too old to vaccinate? If that is the case, then it is a good thing to know and please, reiterate what the optimum ages of the Bangs vaccination is? Thank you in advance.

The age of permitted vaccination varies from state to state. Generally it is between 4 and 8 months, but I've heard 4-10mo and even to 12 months. The reason for the difference is the level of reaction which will be experienced if done too late will not be able to be differentiated from the disease reaction. Literally, they will test positive instead of as vaccinates. It's best to talk to a vet in your state to find out the requirements for your area.
