I sent this rascal to the butcher on Oct 14th. Hanging weight of 545 lbs. so I am going to assume he weighed about 1150 lbs or so live weight.

Here is a pic of a couple of his T-bone steaks that I cooked tonight. VERY, VERY good taste. I was a little worried since I only grained him for 30 days. I am extremely happy. The fat content was enough for good grilling but not excessive. The steaks were as tender as any high dollar steak joint. I have another one, full brother, that will be on tap next year.

Best beef we ever raised was from a Jersey milk cow and a Black Angus bull.. Never weaned him at over a year, fed rolled corn and pears.. Was a bull (no,somehow the cow didn't breed to him)
butcher raved about how good the meat was.. Fat did have a yellowish color.
