My property consist of 10 acres in central Texas . A cross fence exists seperating the front 6 acres from another 4 acres in the back.

I planted about 2 acres of Pensicola Bahia Grass on the back pasture this past weekend. I've gotten all the animals (2 heifers and 3 donkeys) fenced off from this area as well.

Provided we get some rain soon. How much time or how tall should the grass be before letting the animals back into this pasture? There's no real rush on my part since my animals can't keep up with the front 6 acres.

Thanks in advance!

new stands of grass should be 4 to 6 inches tall an all the ground covered before you turn them on it scott
