Bought 35 steers in the fall and are going to sell in the Spring if prices hold up good.I am feeding them average hay and have some low quality pasture left. How much grain would you suggest that I feed per head per day to gain somewhere in the range of 1.5 to 2.5 pounds a day. Thanks for any info!
Depending on the size and shape (green or fleshy) about 5 pounds of grain plus some protien suppliment. You want them to have a total diet of 12-14% protien with good energy levels, but not so much that they start to finish.
