Just had a baby hiefer calf on 2/23, she was up and standing one hour after she was born, very alert, tried nursing right away. checked on her that eve, didn't see her nurse, but she seemed fine. the next morn she didn't seem as alert, dosen't seem to want to nurse, bottle fed colestrum 1 1/2 qts. she seems to have trouble with sucking, we gave her a shot of selinum & vitiman E 1 1/2cc. the mother is very attentive. what else can i do to make this baby nurse?

Did she get colostrum shortly after birth? I've heard that it is very important that a newborn calf get colostrum within 2 hrs or so after birth in order for them to be able to absorb the antibodies in it. That could be why she isn't doing as well today.
I'm sure others with more experience than me will be of much more help.
Good luck with her,
Tim
