I am getting ready to put in some new waterers. Thinking about running electric to them. The energy free that we have still freeze up in very cold weather. Will be using them for cattle and horses. Any suggestions on good maintenence free brands to use.

thanks,

I'd second MiraFounts. Easy to fix when something breaks...I've found that out first hand repeatedly. Dairy I work for has 10 of them.

I use the Freedom Fountains made by Behlen Country. They cost a bit more ($400 for the two holer)at install but have had no problems. They are insullated so they keep the water cool in 95-100 degree days and do not freeze in cold weather.

Where I work they use Mirafounts, they're great! A place where I used to work had Ritchies, I wasn't too crazy about them, they didn't freeze, but it seemed we were always having to make some minor repair or another. Perhaps it was the models that they had.

Here at home I use old tubs and a couple of new tanks.
