Just a quick note from Mexico... Because of BSE, Cosco in Cancun which usually sells USDA Choice is now selling Austrailian beef.. It appears to be about the same marbling as Choice. I've tried a ribeye and BBQ brisket. The ribeye was not as tender as the average Choice steak. The brisket was larger and thicker than the the average Choice brisket. Both were acceptable and much better than the grass fed beef Wal_Mart/Sam's sells here but the price was about 40% higher than our last trip three months ago. The ribeye was $14.99/lb.

You better get used to that Australian beef- If the govt. gets the new free trade agreement with Australia negotiated the way it stands, this country will be full of Australian beef- and our cull cows will be worth $20@hwt. again!!
