I've heard that a cow is in here prime, having & rasing the best calves depending on her part now, between 5 to 7 years old,and after 10 to 12 the calves grow off slower even with proper nutrition. Any thoughts?

Thats what everyone says that cows hit their prime at 5-7yrs of age. I guess I would kind of agree with that. But yet it all depends on the cow. We have old cows (13-14yrs old) in our herd that are still producing some of our best calves. Some cows as they get older must decide that they need to put every towards themselves and not towards the calf.
