Army Worms

If you have winter grazing planted better start checking for army worms started seeing them here in Central Texas today. It does not take them long to destroy the field

Thanks for the info cowboy,you are right,it dont take them long to ruin a field,I just got through planting some oats for the deer hunters,probably plant wheat for grazing a little later after the first frost.................good luck

I am also in south central Texas and we had army worms in our oats about two weeks ago. Had them sprayed by airplane and knocked them down. I am expecting the next generation any day. I walk my fields every morning while the dew is still wet. That is the best way I have found to catch them while they are still small.

that is a good way to find them........just look for spots that don't have any dew.
