How do you feel about a cashless society? I imagine most Americans are be against it seeing as you value and understand freedom better than most.

I don't think there will be as much resistance as you think, especially from the younger generation. I know my children (27 and 32) rarely carry cash.

I, on the other hand, feel vaguely uncomfortable if I don't have cash on me, but there are so few places that won't take my debit card that I really don't know why. Maybe because I just prefer using cash for smaller purchases.

So far the only place I've run into that won't take cash is the bowling alley.

My kids never carry cash even though I have told them repeatedly to squirrel away a couple of hundred dollars in case of emergency.

I know what you mean, cash is not always convenient but from the video I linked it looks as if they want to phase out debit cards as well though and get us to pay using our smart phones, something people buy willingly those little locator tracking devices we carry in our pockets so every transaction and movement we make can be logged, stored and tracked in real time, something Orwell never even foresaw. I think we are possibly blindly heading down a problematic path

I did not watch the video, but I think most people that are OK with cashless don't realize that it actually means no cash. So, no cash to put in the kids birthday cards, no cash for the tooth fairy, no cash to put in the donation plate at church. No more bake sales, no rummage or garage sales, no more our kid having a lemonade stand.
I think that most people think that cashless just means you will use debit cards at the stores. People need to be educated on what cashless actually means.

Was never put up to a vote and is illegal, just like many things this government does.

Need to go back on the gold standard or some other suitable standard, and start staying within a budget while maintaining our ability to fulfill obligations, FIRST.

The government will be able to turn off your ability to access your own money, instantly, with this scheme. What happens when communications go down and your card doesn't work? Happened to me a few times throughout the years...standing at the checkout counter and couldn't complete a purchase because the comm link to process the transaction was down and I didn't have cash to make the purchase.

I'm actually planning to ditch the cell phone. I don't much appreciate being forced to have one.

The ability of the government to force people to buy only from locations within a certain distance from their home, as discussed in the video, is CHILLING.

most Americans sadly today just follow the herd and don't realize what will happen when you get into the lot and the gate closes

I've got a wallet full of money that various people have given me for use of a bull or things I have done for them, it just seems to accumulate as I always find it easier to just tap my card. I was pleased to unload some the other day at the parts store, their bank was down and Mick said to me just drop in when I'm next in town. I said to him, do you still take cash? He laughed, just doesn't expect anyone to carry cash anymore.
I've noticed that you people are still big on writing cheques. If I have to write a cheque these days I have to think long and hard how to do it.

Just more wild hog catching. If you want to catch wild hogs just find where they are and start putting out the corn by day and they will come by night. After a few days of keeping the corn out, run you a fence behind the corn and keep the corn out. After a few more days add ends to the fence to form a u-shape fence. Keep the corn out, a few days later close in the opening of the fence but add a gate. Leave gate open and keep corn out. Go down early one night
and sit a spell, tie rope on gate and set way off, they will come to the corn and when you have a pen full close the gate. Keep food and water out they will lay in the shade and eat and be merry. As long as you feed and water, they will be happy. This is same principle the government entraps people with such as free phones, free food stamps, free medical, free, free, free, you get the picture. Same principle with cashless society, just use a debt card so they can keep up with what your doing. They just want everybody depending on big brother and be under their control. Just more wild hogging.

Cashless Society....I want to go beyond THAT where we EVOLVE to "work for the greater good"...basically we work for free and we have everything we need...literally we can work where we want and have all our needs meet. Where House Cleaners and Doctors are all treated the same...as equals.
Imagine a world where you get to wake up and work for humanity to help others...you or I can live on a huge cattle ranch and care for cattle for free be the steward for the land and animals that feed humanity. A place where all your needs are met...you don't lack...and everyone cares about everyone else equally. No hunger, sickness, war erased. Yes, we'd have to serve a few years of our lives as worker-bees doing the grunt work...but after that you'd be free to do whatever you wanted job/training wise in any field you wanted- accepted unconditionally.
Well, sounds too good to be true? It's not...let me take you on a journey...this all was written about in 1924 when they didn't have advanced technology....listen carefully, listen two times...if you're "aware" and understand that time is not linear....and are "aware" of how the future would be and look like....and are "aware" of our deeper Divine spiritual humbleness and love for each other....then you will probably realize how significant these writings were in 1921 to 1924. You be the judge...in my heart I know it's true. Humanity is terrible to one another...but hundreds of years out it'll change.

It's not just govt either. Private woke companies are getting into the act as well.

Paypal inadvertently (they claim) sent out a memo saying they would fine people that used their service in any way to send out 'misinformation'. They backtracked on that fine print after a backlash of "how to delete paypal" instructions started popping up but I suspect it's coming in some form or another.

The high school and junior high football games won't take cash and most of the schools around Fort Worth. It is really annoying. You have to go online and buy tickets. What do people do who don't have smartphones ?

My daughter, who is now a teacher/coach, said it was great theft prevention. It started with covid and people not wanting to handle money.

Makes crime in general more difficult too. Does Bitcoin count as cash?

I hate coffee...I figured most people wouldn't see. Once you realize all events in time are happening all at once...that time is not linear....what science has already determined during this century...but wouldn't have known in 1922. You will realize your spirit-your consciousness could actually be transferred to another in that same hospital...either in the past or future. There were technical details in the narrative and the book that were unknown in 1922 and are just becoming known today. It is one of the most intriguing mysteries because it is so accurate.
I can see a society working for the greater good and love of others...where all selfishness, empire building, ego and competition are erased.

Only one thing wrong with the picture you paint... By the time this all happens we will be required to be vegans. There won't be any animals that feed humanity.
