I opened up what we call our horse pasture to the cows this morning; there was two cows near the gate, and came in right away. The rest of the herd was up on the hill, and I don't think a minute elapsed before the rest started coming down.

Dunno about clairvoyant, but they can hear extremely well!! :)

If you had driven up with a stock trailer and portable corrals, do you think the two at the gate would have headed for the hills ?

Not sure about cows, but certain my dog is. He knows when I'll be leaving the house before I do. He'll stay on the couch as I walk to the door, knowing I forgot my glasses.
After turning around a half dozen times, patting my pockets to be sure I have them all properly loaded, he'll be waiting at the door.
I think I can safely bet that when he gets off the couch and heads for the door, I've got everything I need.

If I go to get in the pickup my dog jumps in as soon as I open the door. Except on Sunday morning. She barely lifts her head when we go to leave on Sunday morning to go to church. I am afraid my dog is an atheist.
I struggle through it myself, but I figure it's best to go, so I can recharge my batteries. Wife has to make me get dressed, then she twists my ear all the way to the truck. Makes me feel like a dog.

Dogs, cows and horse are vary aware of routine and what is or is not normal for the people they are used to.
Take for example: Back when I had about 4 hounds and two Border Collies someone gave me a very cozy floor length robe.
All six of the dogs were on chains about 30 ft. from the travel trailer I lived in. So I decide since it was a bit chilly outside I would just wear my cozy robe. Well when I walked around the end of the trailer where my six little canines could all see me,
they all hit the ends of there chains and were lunging in my direction barking and baying at me, and it wasn't in fun.
They were ready to seriously take on an intruder.
So I went back inside, got dressed and went back out to feed my dogs, they were all wagging their tales jumping up and down
happy to see me and ready for breakfast.
I never went outdoors in that robe again.
