I'm trying to figure out which optics I want on this ar. It's got full dovetails all the way around. I'm thinking a red dot with magnifier but also don't want to spend too much on something that is supposed to be simple. Quick but accurate target acquisition is my goal.

I just put a Trijicon ACOG on mine. I like it a lot and I get a free refill in 25 years when the joy juice is depleted.

I have a EOTech 512. I like it.

What are good red dots? I've never found one I can call good.

I have an Aimpoint that is really nice but it runs off batteries and I felt batteries might get scarce during the zombie apocalypse so I made the change.

Zombies carry batteries in their pockets.

I can look thru mine and still use the iron sights. They fold down.

HD, you make a valid point. The battery issue was just a ruse I used to talk myself into moving this item from my "want list" to my"need list". I'm sure there will be plenty of trijicon acogs laying around when the smoke settles.
