Anyone have experience with a Reimer Eze-feeder, either pick-up mounted or three point?
Electric drive vs hydro?

Thought it would be handy for keeping cows trained to corral up in the summer while on pasture or to supplement pastures if conditions were to get too dry and also an easy way to feed in the winter months. A guy could start a pickup instead of waiting 20 minutes for a tractor or skid steer to warm up.
Thanks in advance,

I have a permanent feeding area made up of troughs kinda like this http://rancherslivestockequipment.com/uploads/3/2/3/3/3233783/8387002_orig.jpg?277
on a fenceline and feed what they need 1/2 in the morning 1/2 in the evening. You can also regulate how much this unit delivers and of course I rarely fill it up feeding as I do. I Just back it up to a 4 ton bin and auger in what I need per feeding

Didn't think you fed your cattle like that.

All of our cows live in the real world as production animals and not fed with a feed bucket their whole life.

Went with an auger bucket idea instead. Wont be much help in the summer months on pasture but it'll be better in the fall /winter then the Reimer Eze

We don't have the eze feeder, but we have 'The Feedbox' (http://www.artbyjoanherbert.com/index.a ... abricating) which is basically the same idea. We have two different ones. One that goes in the back of a pickup we usually use it to feed cows in the winter (just dump it on the ground in strips). It's also extremely handy when moving them home in the fall (usually an 8 - 10 mile walk) or even to call them into the corral from the pasture. They will pretty much follow it anywhere. Like was already mentioned you don't want it in the back of your going to town truck lol The auger on that one is run by your truck battery. The other one we have is a larger one that is mounted on its own trailer. We park it outside the bull pen and use it fill pails. It has it's own battery to run the auger - we just use a trickle charger to keep it going. Call it lazy if you want but I can't ever imagine being without one. They are great!

I was interested in buying a bull or two from them, but not anymore. Once they didn't bring a bull to the Florida bull test my mind was made up. Mr. Buddy has earned my business.
