for Vanentine's Day? I just found out that we will be childless this weekend and thought we might do something special, like going to a restaurant for a nice dinner. Well, I hate crowds, and seeing as the holiday falls on a Saturday, I figured that all the places we like to eat would be terribly crowded. We are settling for a nice dinner at home, couple of steaks and fixins. I'll forget the diet for a day. Not that big of a deal. Steve suggested that he grill the steaks nekkid. I suggested he at least wear an apron. Hope it's warm out!

I'll post pics if he does this... :help:

hmmm...sounds like there may be some grinding in the old mill come Valentine's night.

Tell ya what, Lammie, we don't really want pics of Steve nekkid. I'm sure he's a fine man and all that, but....
And I recommend the apron. Otherwise you could end up with grilled sausage.

I will be doing my very best to ignore the whole darn thing, stupid commercialised Hallmark day.
Whatever I'm getting will be coming from WAY away this year, so will take a few million years to get here.
As for what I'm getting Scott, I'll be sitting a single flower atop his ashes.

as usual i will either do one of two things:

a) dress in all black and get drunk as a skunk
or
b) go see how many numbers i can get at the dollar store

I'm with Killala on this blasted Hallmark holiday! And don't forget what the florists get out of this.

I guess in this economy everyone has to scramble for the almighty dollar.

I just got back from the Valentine's Dance at the assisted living home. I was one of the few men there so I got my choice of women to dance with. Though old, some of them had some spunk left in them. I joked to a couple that I was going to go to the package store and get us a little nip just to see what they could really do. We had a blast. One elderly lady I dance with must have been really something on the dance floor in her day. Lot to be said for the music the Pack Rat bunch put out in their day.

Now I gotta figure out something to do for the miisses cause I'm sure she got a little jealous seeing me out there dancing with all them women.

We never do anything for the stupid day, one year when we were first engaged hubby bought me roses from a gas station as it was Sunday and the only thing open in the little town we lived in..Then we got married so all bets were off.. :lol2:

This year VDay falls on date night which I implemented after my birthday dinner was so much fun. It will be our third one of the year. Since we are so very busy and he is gone so much I decided that every Sat of his days off (when he gets them and they are 3 weeks apart) that we will have a sit down meal with good wine and conversation..This Sat it is rib eye with crab..and of course a couple of bottles of our favorite wine.

Lets hope the cows and weather cooperate because the way it is going now I don't know if I will be able to sit down for dinner let alone conversation..

May you make everyday valentines day for the one you love...
Now I am off to check cows again and it is brutally cold out there..

The Dollar General Pimp!

We rode down to the local dive last Saturday night, there was this thing there with big boobs and broad shoulders. Friend of my wife's got up the muster and asked, turned out she used to be a he. Looked like something outta Tennessee!

We went to the dollar store in Tishomingo, OK last year, I can't remember why, and there was the hag working there, meth mouth deluxe, freaky amount of energy, and she recognized Steve! She was one of the ex girlfriends!!! Don't think I didn't get a laugh out of that!

My parents invited us to the nursing home my mom works at to help with there party at 2:00. My mom is going to feed us and the in-laws about 5:00 and then the in-laws are taking the kids. Wife and I are going to spend that night and most of the next day at a motel type spay thing.

I'm going to move the breeders into a huge padlock and have it setup to where they will only have to take down a string of temp fence to give them there next meal. My father in-law is bad about putting off moving them but my kid should pester him till it gets done.

Where's the love Alice?? Florist have to make a living to and it shouldn't always be from funerals. We all have to make a living. My wife and I enjoy valentines day. Maybe the old man will pick you a mess of bitter weeds. Seems fitting.

I plan on catching dinner and a movie with the wife and then going back to our place for well you know.

I guess the Saudis are a little up tight about Valentines day.

The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice intensified its vigilance over flower, chocolate and gift shops to confiscate items related to Valentine's Day, a perennial crackdown on a holiday perceived by many to be both Western and immoral.

If I had 20 wives, like them Saudi princes, I'd hate Valentines day too. It would cost a fortune.
Friend down the road is a florist. She's going crazy, in a good way. I'll ask her next week how it went.

I get what you're sayin', John. My bad....

We're going to a dinner at church that the youth are having for adults. Should be a great time.

I called my favorite Uncle and wished him a happy 75th birthday. He seem to take exception that I was 6 hrs early. Aunt Gerrie kept his season tickets for football next year. He didn't know that as he gave up last year on going to the games. I couldn't get him to go to the Auburn georgia game. After a little talk I think we will go again. It was good to hear him laugh. I need to call them more.

I talked on the phone today with my Dad several times as he can't seem to recall what we talked about much within a short period of time. Talked with my mother about how she is handling Dad's situation. We will do that again tomorrow as well.

It is special because one day we won't be able to do it.

I think Joe did a good thing with the nursing home folks. It only takes time. They get so much out of it and we do too.
