I've purchased enough seed to do 20+ acres with Canamaize. It's a 69 day corn with small ears and kernels like popcorn. The plan is to plant short season beans as early as possible next to a pasture and double crop the corn in after harvest. Hopefully be harvested by Sept. 15. I plan on strip grazing this winter. Hopefully the corn will get at least waist high before the frost. Ideally I would like to see an ear the size of my thumb but I'm not counting on it. The salesman said he's never had anyone try it this way to his knowledge but thinks it should work great, providing conditions are decent. We'll see. Hopefully we will get in the field before May 1.
