Found a website that is most helpful in the id of old tools and their useage:

http://www.antiquefarmtools.info/index.htm

It's not perfect or complete, but it's a helpful site. I have many old tools now, and as long as my dad is around, he can help identify, but sad to say, many of that generation won't be around too much longer.

Anyone else save this stuff the try to have the knowledge to go with it?

Was just talking to a friend about this last night. We have an Ideal (Lot, I can't remember), manure spreader, the kind you drag behind a tractor or wagon, as a yard ornament. My FIL came up with it. He painted it John Deere colors, which is not at all accurate. I looked it up last night and saw one that was kinda orange. Guy on the website said he'd been using it. Our's is too far gone for that. We also have a John Deere planter that's pretty shot. It's in Oklahoma at the moment. I don 't particularly want it around here, since we will just have to move it again some day.
