Another sale barn cattle thread

I'm guessing that some areas of the world have different "protocol" regarding what you bring to the local auction barn, and what you're required to tell the sale barn staff. Having said that, I don't know of anyone here in Texas that is honest about the condition, or the presumed health of anything they haul to the auction barn. The auction barn is definately "buyer beware" here, and I am more surprised when someone picks up something worthwhile, as in my experience, most of the stuff (outside of feeder type cattle) is there for a reason, ie: lameness, disposition, health, etc. etc. etc.

So I'm not sure why some are outraged that someone hauled something that was potentially sick to the auction barn. I do agree that the smarter thing to do would be haul them directly to a packer, but some areas that's not an option.
