another bangs question

Say you had a heifer that missed getting her bangs vaccination during the annual branding/vaccinating/dehorning. Say she's right about 1 year old (cut off is at 12 months). Say she's about 900lbs - left on the cow a little longer than usual - and say you saw her with the bull. Say you're sure she's bred.

Assuming you could get the vet to give her the bangs vacc, is it safe to give to a preg heifer? would it make her abort?

If you assume she is bred, then palpate her. You should not bang out a bred heifer.

My vet says he will do a bangs vacc at 13 months, but that's it. Any later, she'll return a false positive.
