This is a link to an article in the Angus Journal. The speaker was from England he talks of how the animal rights groups have gotten laws passed that are very restrictive to transporting any animals, especially livestock. Like the recent problem with the packing plant that was mistreating cattle, these people have used a few incidents that should not have happened (if they did at all) and pushed through restrictive laws on transporting livestock in the EU.

Frankie Europe has put regs on everything to do with livestock including banding calves and putting rings in a bulls nose , also to dehorn an animal the vet must do it.

I fear that it is on it's way here because of a few bad apples in an otherwise very self regulated industry. But as they say it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch..
