I have a couple of questions.
Why did the Rito 1I2 semen sell for so much?

Why did the Connealy Thunder semen sell for so much? I called Genex Friday and they said you can get semen from him for $20 or $25 a straw and it sold $200-$225 for 5 straws!

Often at those auctions the proceeds will go to the Juniors and the price doesn't reflect the value of the semen. It's a donation to the breed and it gets their name in the Journal.

The sale catalog didn't say anything about this semen being donated.
I did hear a few months ago that 1I2 was on his last leg but haven't been able to confirm the rumor.
