Why does some purebred Angus have a small patch of white hair underneath around the udder/testicle area. Have noticed this on both heifers and steers? Is this common and if it is a show steer does it make a difference?

Most Angus cattle have some white on them somewhere, most often in the area you mention. The registration rule is "...an animal with WHITE SKIN above the underline, in front of the navel or on leg, foot or tail shall not be eligible for registration." (My caps.)
