anaplasmosis & babesiosis

Help Support CattleToday:

Hi 10486208,
Using the Merck vet manual as a reference, it states that pathogenesis of anaplasmosis is by at least 16 species of ticks, although occasionally through contaminated needles, or dehorning or surgical intsruments while babesiosis is transmitted mainly by Boophilus spp ticks, in which transmission occurs transovarially.

For more info, you might refer to a Merck Veterinary Encyclopedia or other similar reference book.

Take care.
