Alfalfa seeding

How much alfalfa seed per acre do I need to overseed to improve quality of grass hay field. I only have calculations for complete plow and reeseed for pure Alfalfa and Im only looking to improve quality(50% alfalfa to grass would be my best case hopes. at the price alfalfa seed costs im being frugal ok cheap but I want some reults for my efort Thank You

Depends on if drilling or broadcasting. The base seeding rate for our area is 9.4 lbs PLS (pure live seed) per acre. Normally if you want a 50% stand you divide the base rate by half, if broadcasting you add 10%.
