If you sell cattle, horses, or pigs to another farmer, there yours until you deliver them, That would'nt be considered Intrastate or Interstate commerce,Anyone in the state of Alabama that buy's or registers a new one ton or bigger truck should get a letter. It's for the folks that hot shot,( Use their dually's to haul cars, tractors ect. over the road). When you get your FREE dot number you'll get another letter telling you that you have to buy a different tag ( no telling what that will cost) Farmers are excempt. To get your free USDOT log on to http://www.dps.state.al.us/mc and click on NEW Alabama intrastate DOT Numbers-FAQ It will explain everthing.
