In my case, I missed noting the open heifer diagnosed as a freemartin had a very juvenile/abnormally small vulva. Thought to be a singleton and being a heifer, I was concerned but not unduly alarmed that she wasn't observed in heat/lack of bull interest during breeding season. Wiser for the experience.

I can vouch for a freemartin getting bred and having a calf.
But a good vet should be able to tell you if the animal has cycled in the past.

Yes, I believe there is about an 8% chance a heifer born with a twin male can be fertile. But, if she is fertile, she is not a freemartin.
