Agressive cattle

The best way I have found to make truely agressive cattle human friendly is to convert them to hamburger. They become a real pleasure to deal with and it opens up a ton of options for them to be utilized.

Agreed. It's all in my head but the last crazy heifer I butchered seemed to taste better than any other. Every time I took a bite of steak it brought a smile to my face knowing she wouldn't chase anyone again.

@Brute 23 is right, cattle that are aggressive are not likely going to change.
Truly aggressive cattle are dangerous.
A young animal that is wild or skittish, might calm down over time, if it comes associate people with food. An aggressive animal is very different and not worth the risk of getting hurt trying to work with it

Yes to this, one that wants to kill you always will. One that's just a little bit wild... put it in a small pen and feed it treats, it'll be your friend eventually.

Is this cow aggressive in general or only when penned up or when you are around he baby? I walked one a 1/2 mile to the corral the other day to pull her calf and she she walked along easy, once penned up it was another story. She wanted to kill me. We got the calf pulled and she didn't calm down for the week we had her trapped. Once we let her and baby out things are fine. No way I'm selling that cow.

You may want to describe what she is doing and the circumstances around the unwanted behavior.

If you say agressive most people will say to cull her as she could cause serious injury or death. If you don't think it's that bad, you may want to give more context.

We've got two too many . One is Brahma and when she has a young calf you better be heads up. She's fast in the catch lot but we keep an eye on her . Work her first or cut her out early. The other is half simmental . Don't put her crazy on that , more on her momma who got a one way ride because of her craziness. She has charged me once in the catch lot on her way out . She's on the haul list this year . Of course she raises one of the top calves .

Life is to short to put up with an aggressive or wild cow. It is best to send them down the road. That being said, is this cow aggressive with others or only when alone. Sometimes some just go crazy when they are all by themselves.

I buy lots of range cows who don't see people for months at a time. Ones that run away are fine. Ones that try to take you get a one way trailer ride. Life is too short and there are too many good ones. I know from experience that hospital bill cost way more than a cow is worth.

There are no drugs that will tame your cattle. Define "aggressive". Little skittish and high headed? Or full-out Imma gonna eat you for lunch? If the cattle in question are new to you, it takes time for them to earn your trust - and vice versa. Being around them in a non-threatening manner helps. Bribery with cubes is a bonus. Some breeds tend to be more aggressive than others. Please be more specific, describe the scenario.

If it's a bull then he becomes a steer. Fatten and ear. If it's a female fatten and eat. If it's genetics do you want that in your herd? I hear cattle talk amongst others. Invite it for dinner.

Aggressive as in threatening you or being disrespectful and crowding your personal space?
I teach my dairy cows respect by carrying a 4' piece of pvc pipe and hitting them on the nose as hard as I can if they crowd me. Done right, this is a long lasting lesson. If they are threatening and charging you get rid of them. ASAP

How to make aggressive cattle to become frendly, or is there drugs for this one ?

Well you've gotten a lot of answers and I'd bet you are sensing a common theme.

If you haven't been insulted and you are still around... cattle are the result of artificial selection from a wild Aurochs that would eat your lunch or be out of the county so fast you'd question whether it was ever really there. The only responses they had were fight or flight, and they would kill you doing either if you were available to be stomped. And the switch between fight and flight is easily flipped.

Prey animals selected for disposition are varied. Docility is listed along with EPDs on bulls used for artificial insemination and temperament is one of the most highly heritable traits. A lot of exceptional and expensive animals have ended up in a freezer because they were dangerous. It's not worth having a dangerous animal around. Period. Full stop.
