Just weaned off my spring calves a week ago. I finally have all the computer work done and they averaged a 2.4 ADG. The last five years running i have averaged an ADG OF 2.35. I figured they are doing well enough because they have been finishing out between 1200 and 1300 lb at 13mo of age in our feedlot. I was wondering what everyone elses experience was, if my birth to wean performance is solid or if i should push it alittle more. The bull calves are banded at birth, and are not implanted untill they are weaned, so the weight is put on through mama, and IL grass. The calves this year averaged right at a 90lb bw,had a 408lb ww, at 130 days of age for all those that would like to know.

Over the past 5 years (the only years we have data on the computer for) all calves from heifers/cows, bulls/heifers our average is 2.4629. That includes 3 years of dorught and 2 semi-normal years. No supplements, just the cow and pasture.
