acronyms and big words

Somebody needs to start a thread to guess what BF does for a living...

I like using acronyms for electronics or computers. Lot easier to say, or type, GPU, than "Graphical Processing Unit", or VRAM, than "Video-Random Access Memory".
Or my favorite SCR, "Silicon-Controlled Rectifier", which we always called "Silly Cat Rocket" in high school electronics.

We use them all the time in my line of work. Pages and pages of them. I like to change them sometimes, keeps the mind sharp.

I too dislike initials and acronyms but I do like a big word when I can use it. I feel like it keeps myh mind sharp, especially if I have to look it up.
