In south carolina, between charleston and columbia, i want to start with about 10 cows, mainly as a hobby but probley a business later on.
 
Over here in Louisiana it's a cow, calf per acre. I suppose more would be better . That's if proper land management is practiced.
 
Over here in California if its dry ground w/ decent feed we'll go 1 pair for every 10 acres. If it's irrigated ground w/ decent pasture we'll go 1 pair per acre.
 
I talked to a farm just down the road today and he gets about a cow,calf an acre and only feed them hay in the winter. He raises limousines, that's probley what i will raise.
