Argh. Found the fittings I need so I don't have to drive 20 miles to town for a 79 cent coupling, but all I can find is ABS glue.

Can I use it for a pretty low pressure situation on pvc? Any other ideas?

ABS glue is primarily for use with non-pressurized fittings, such as "DWV" (Drain, Waste, and Vent) plastic pipe.

The ABS glue would possibly hold for a while but expect a leak or blow-out if pressure much over 10-20 psi.

On another note, always use PVC Cleaner (e.g., the blue solvent) plus the PVC Cement. The cleaner softens the fitting areas and better allows the cement to attach to the fitting ends. This is why PVC connections are called "Solvent Welding".

it's a 2 inch line coming out of a storage tank by gravity - just need to do the two couplings on either end of the "patch"

found some silicon sealer, think that will be better and probably safer for the goldfish down stream in one of the troughs.
