A new way to fish

We have a watershed lake and the Watershed Board drained the spillway for routine erosion maintenance. Some of our neighbors came over & scooped out appx 500 lbs of crappie, bass, bullheads, catfish, perch/bluegill . . . they didn't take the gar. That's one serious fish fry!

I had a great uncle in WWII who told me that his unit was camped beside a creek while they were in England getting geared up to go into Normandy, and they'd gotten tired of eating the same old thing, so a few of them decided that a fish fry was a fine idea. I'll never forget him saying "You know, if you throw a couple of hand grenades in the water you can get all kinds of fish!"

True! And yet the destruction is just as bad. When they complete the maintenance the spillway will look great but they also had to lower the lake to drought level. Hoping for some serious rain!
