A good cross breed

Help Support CattleToday:

I tried to mind my own business.....but I just couldn't. :lol2:

The British X Continental cross seems to be a proven winner for commercial production. So how about Tarentaise X Hereford? They are red, they are Brit X Cont, the white faces should help value at the sale barn, the Tarentaise maternal value should make the heifers that are retained good ones, both breeds are moderate size and tend to have quiet dispositions....and so on.

Herefords used to be "THE" choice for beef.

Not to mention the CHOICE for CHOICE beef.hahahaha

I know it was stupid, it's just the kind of day I'm having. Indulge me.

Pretty hard to beat a Hereford/angus baldie actually Hereford and Angus are a good base to build any crossbred cow from.

When Beef was king, so were Herefords

I thought that was a good slogan. But apparently the Hereford folks didn't like it. :(

If you want marbling, buy some Wagyu crosses from Briggs Genetics, the Tuli component will give the heat resistance without the 'ear'
my registered Tuli were well adapted to the area I lived in; Raeford in NC and cross with either British or Continental breeds as they are very divers genetically from both types.

Well if you're wanting Red, go with Santa Gertrudis. Excellent breed, good cows, calving ease.
