It has been pretty busy around here for the last little while, but I did manage to snap a handful of photos on the way through one of the pastures the other day. Now, before we get into haying full time, here are a few Shorthorn cross cows and calves.

#144 (7 years old)

A couple of calves that go back to the same dam line as #144

One of my favourite heifer calves, not the greatest photo though....

And a darn good steer calf (4H Prospect maybe??) with his mama in the background....

Very nice Randi! I think I remember your "favorite calf" from an earlier picture that you posted, because I really liked her also. :D

Very good looking cattle. I love the heifers and that is a fine looking steer calf. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, thanks everyone! The grass is awesome again this year, the cows are looking great and so are the calves. I have high hopes for those calves!

Looks like your fav heifer there will have plenty of fur to fluff up and make her look purdy... keep her warm too... the one in my avatar was a 1/2 SH and she was a wooly mammoth.. had 2" long fur in october.

That steer looks good and meaty, something that was lacking in our line of SH's, #144 sure does look like a good cow too, I have a pretty similar one
