I wouldn't be taking my unbred heifers that I was plainning to breed to the feedlot. You run the risk of ruining a heifer that way.

when she went into the feedlot i wasn't planning on keeping her. but as she grew it was evident (at least to me) that i should keep her. BTW- nearly all the braunvieh cows i started out with came from feedlot. they are now 9 yrs old- a couple of them were pictured in this post- and have never missed a lick.
