Hubby's 80 year old mom went thru Chemo & radiation from April til October - diagnosed cancer free now.
Prior to Christmas each year she has a company come to her home & clean her carpets.
This year, the guy cleaning had a yellow wrist band, so Mom asked about it. He said he supported the local Cancer center, had never had it & noone in family had it but just thought it was something he should support.
So Mom told him about her long summer.
When he was finished the cleaning job, she got out her checkbook. He said "put that away, you've been through enough this year - it's free!"

Brought tears to my eyes again.

Oh wow, Jeanne...it is so good to hear stories of kindness. Made my eyes sting for just a minute, too. God bless him...and your mother-in-law.

We tend to notice the bad things quicker than the good, but the good is still all around us. Thanks for the story. Made me feel good, too.
