We moved cows home about a week ago. Started on Wednesday morning and finished Thursday morning. Our last load on Wednesday was unloaded in the dark, and I got this pretty cool shot with my phone. As usual I never got any other photos....I was too busy working cows.... We also sent all the cull cows to town for the Friday sale... averaged about $1600 on them...now to hopefully replace some of them.

I had my big lens on the camera, so it wasn't the greatest for getting photos close up.... But here are the replacement heifers. Pretty happy with them, they should make some pretty good mama cows... Most of them weighed between 575 and 650 lbs

They are getting about 3 lbs each of a rolled barley/spring wheat mixture. We upped that to 5 lbs the other day, and lost the #77 calf to grain overload....I think she might have had an underlying issue, but we dropped the amount back down to 3 lbs...

A few heifers that we bought this fall, average weight was 635 lbs. The Red and white calf is one of our own.

Thanks Randi, I always enjoy your pics. I have visiting that area on my bucket list but I don't do winter very well. Please keep them coming.

Always love your pictures Randi, looking for some replacements here as well. Bred heifers going $3000-$3200 here,....yikes!

I wish we could find some good Shorthornx heifers or cows, they're pretty much impossible to find this year, everyone must be holding tight. I think that most of those heifers are just Red Angus, a chance that a few have Shorthorn in them, though, I think...

Bred heifers here, probably $2400-3000 some might go over that, but the market is just getting going this week on bred cattle. Hoping to find some decent cows in the $2200- $2400 range...
