This is in the high dessert country in South Central WY.
Had to check it this year, 12.7 miles between cattle guards.
And 6 miles or so wide. This is hot, windy, dry and no shade.

There are lots of bulls in this pasture, all look like this one.

How many head per acre can you run on that type ground?

Officially our ground (similar to this) is rated at 50 acres per animal unit (AU).
It may vary a bit from place to place, and whether they are running animals year round or just part of the year.

mnmtranching -- were you antelope hunting? Ooops, just found the muley pic. Nice buck!

Those first two could be postcards.

Gorgeous. Barren, but gorgeous.

I really enjoy the big open country to.

Nice that it is all federal land, open to the public. Although, except for the guy that checks on cattle only a few hunters ever see it.

I visited with a hand checking water tanks a few years back. He said the pasture holds 1200 pair and 60 bulls. I figure the pasture is about 80 sq miles.

This is Antelope and Sage Grouse country, I don't ever see Deer in this open country.

I go accross this pasture to get to some rough Muley and Elk country.
See if this pic shows the rugged country.
