ok all i have a question, i bought a 2 day old bottle jersey bull calf , he is 6 weeks old tomorrow and my question is. every since i got him he has had runny poop most days, then some days he has a good poop ( firm) even firm and runny in the same day. i have treated him for scours several times im about ready to give up on him and say this is normal for him.it just wont go away. he has never went down and full of energy everyday and never has been dehydrated since i got him. any thoughts or recommendations?

Jerseys can go from one to another easily, sometimes I think it is just their smaller size and not processing the milk regularly. If he is acting fine, and not refusing his bottle or anything, as Son of Butch said, get him eating a good calf starter and get him started on some good grass hay. The hay will help get his rumen to develop and it will firm up his manure. Calves on cows will start to eating some grass and hay because momma does it, and it helps to get their digestive tract to develop so that as they get older, they will be able to fully utilize the roughage.
