I just had a shop put a clutch in a older model 4020. It just doesn't feel right, or least it seems to be sticking a little, hard to push in and the gears seem to be clashing. I told him the tech manual that I had said to run the rpm @1900 to do a proper adjustment,on the clutch ( I really don't think he did that). Any ideas ?rcp

He told me to try it and if he needed to come over and adjust more he would, but I think he needs a little more information than I can give??rcp

How much pedal free play is there? There should be around 1.5 inches. The 4020 isn't real picky.

And forget about the whole "run it at X RPMs". The 4020 doesn't have inertial pressure plate fingers anyway, so if changing the RPM changes pedal free play any more than a couple mils, there are other issues.

I think there are 2 options for a 4020,but I don't know much about them.My 4020 has a very stiff clutch,but the gears don't grind or anything.
