3020 JD

Help Support CattleToday:

Brush Hog pasture, move bales of hay and maybe plant a little winter grazing.

I have never had a 3020, but I have heard they are a fine tractor.
I am sure there will be alot of negative comments about it being a gas burner, but there are some positive things as well.
1- they start easier in cold weather.
2- if you just start it to put out some hay it warms up alot quicker. ( a diesel isn't efficent untill it warms up. )
3- you probobly paid less for it than a diesel.

Since you're moving hay with it, about the only piece of advice I can give you is to not turn short with a bale on the loader. The spindles on the 30 and 40 series JDs are really too light to be used with a loader and will snap from time to time. Take it easy on the tractor, don't bounce through holes with a bale on the front, and you should be just fine.
