After the horrid AI year 2 years ago, we're feeling grateful for (so far) 100% bred rate on 2 cows and a heifer. Different bulls for each, based on plans for calves and the registration status of the cow. Did home test and all looks good
All settled first breeding. Pasture is much better this year (rain), the heifer actually lost her CIDR about a week early, but cycled perfectly on time for AI date to match the cows. Much more moderate spring-80's and wet instead of 90's and dry. Hopefully they maintain. The oldest cow is 8-settles first AI every time since initial breeding as a heifer (2 attempts that time) the other 2 are her daughters-different sires. The middle cow bull bred last year after missing the prior summer AI-6 months delayed calf but able to breed all 3 together this year. She's over conditioned on grassā¦.
The heifer has been showing good standing heats for 3 cycles prior to breeding. She's 15 months old
