Is there much potential for a decent milk cow?The other 1/4 is angus.

Not for a diary but for persoanl/home use there should be more then plenty

That's what we had in mind-either keeping her to graft an extra calf on or to sell her as a family milk cow. We have her grandma-the full blooded jersey and have wanted to get another one or two to try to raise calves on. Thanks

she would work as a dairy cow nurse cow or a family cow.if i was you id keep her for a nurse cow.ive seen quiet a few beef crosses sale at the dairy sale.but them boys would buy them real cheap.

She'll make enough milk to raise a calf or feed a family, but if you are in the dairy business she probably won't make as much milk as a full dairy animal. We actually had a couple 1/2 angus 1/2 holsteins that we actually milked in our dairy herd and they produced noticeably less than the fullbloods but they did OK.

She will be an excellent family cow. Breed her to a beef breed and she should be able to raise beef for your freezer and give you enough milk for your family's use.

Keep her we milk about 10 Jersey x Angus the only bad thing I will say about them is they are very free milkers & is that really so bad :) . Another thing to watch for is teat length if you are going to hand milk the last thing you want is teats that can only be milked with 2 fingers.
