Well, it just can't be perfect all the time. Just hope that won't have more trouble with the rest of calvings and newly formed pair will do fine. Second time fighting for the calf's life and health already. He was sick when we brought him home at 3 days age, started nursing bottle only 5 days later. Now he got sich again two days after being introduced to his mom agan, but today, after two days of treatment, he looks much better, so hopefully he will be fine now.

The last vrb sired heifer born last night. From 13 years old 3/4lim cow. 291 days gestation. A strong candidate for being a replacement in the future.

Really liking this heifer so far. Tomorrow will be one month old. Sired by AI bull Tomschoice Onslow, from limx cow. It'll be a hard decission, when will need to choose replacements from this group...

Finally got the first calf sired by our own crossbred bull. Our pure lim had an injury, so was unable to breed cows anymore. Tried to AI as many as possible myself on natural heats, but a small group of cows were silent, so decided to let our own bull to do some work instead of having open cows. He bred 5 cows, four were due now, the 5th is due at the end of the month. Bull was sired by piedmontese, out of 3/4lim cow. His dam is 11 years old this year and don't plan to cull her yet.

Newborn heifer. 292 days gestation, dam is 7/8 lim, 4th calf for her.

The third calf by crossbred bull. Bull calf, from 3/4 lim 11 years old cow, which is a dam of the bull. I hoped that she didn't breed as she was a very late calver last year, but it seems that she tries to catch up with the time she lost.

She is a calm one for me, but was very suspicious of the unknown people. No problem tagging

The last calf from the crossbred bull was born yesterday. Bull calf, 283 days gestation.


Have one more cow and two heifers left to calve for this season. All late calvers will be moved to calve in December-January
