305/610 chassis cab)

Hemi is only available in 2500 pickups and select 3500 chassis-cabs.

Pickup trim levels: ST, SLT, TRX, Laramie, Power Wagon (2500 Crew short
bed only)
Chassis-cab trim levels: ST, SLT, Laramie

Retuned pickup suspension allows better ride and handling empty and loaded

Hydraulic body mounts reduce cab shock on rough roads

B20 biodiesel rating for fleet buyers

Alternator on all Cummins trucks is now 180-amp, 220-amp available on
chassis-cabs

3.42 axle continues for both G56 and 68RFE transmissions to improve
highway fuel economy. Power Wagon retains 4.56 axles

2500 diesel Crew and Mega Cabs increase to 9600-lb GVWR (up from 9000)

Exhaust brake is standard on all diesels

BIG brakes: pickup front rotors: 14.17", chassis-cab front rotors 15.35"

Floor-shift 4x4 lever only on ST and Power Wagon, electric dash shift on
all others

Electronic Range Select on all automatics, allowing driver to select

Trailer mirrors are now 7x11 (up from 7x10) and are standard on all 3500s

Tire Pressure Monitor standard on all 2500s (not available on
35/45/5500; not required by law on GVWR over 10,000). On 2500
SLT/Laramie, the PSI is displayed for each tire.

Absorber catalyst used instead of urea injection to meet 2010 NOx
emissions on diesels.

Cummins now accounts for 90% of all HD Ram units sold.

Hood has additional height, raised dome for clearance of the Cummins,
and "louvers" to add stiffness.

Tailgate accommodates an optional back-up camera for trailer hitching

Top-level entertainment system includes 10-speaker surround sound

The Crew Cab replaced the Quad because sales and owner comments showed
that HD trucks are now 50% crew cab.

Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS) activates interior lights,
unlocks all doors and shuts down fuel delivery after an air-bag deployment

Power-adjustable pedals continue with the only adjusting clutch pedal in
the market when used with the Cummins/G56.

Side-curtain air bags are standard, side-seat air bags optional for the
front seats

In addition to 12V DC outlets, a 115V AC outlet is also located on the

Wonder if they will be priced so one would be able to afford one or are they going to have a 6 year 0% no payments till 2015 loan to sell them?

Think "mortgage". After all, with 10 speaker stereo and a 115 volt outlet for my coffee maker, I could live in there. People would say "he's living in his truck" and they'd shake their heads like "he used to be a prosperous cattleman", but after I had them over for steaks on the porch (bed) they would change their tune.

thats 1 heck of a truck.i hope they are able to sale a few of them.but im betting most people will be looking for clean low milage used trucks.

Just looking at trading my 2yo Chevy 2500HD w/duramax/allison combination, very likely I will be able to step from that to the new version of the same machine for zero down and same or lower payment.

Dodge w/ cummins is too thirsty, do they still have the allison trans as an option?

I am not sure I like the idea of the truck shutting off the fuel after an impact. Sounds like alot of electrical/computer things that could go wrong. I prefer simple but I do like the way it looks.

That is not new. My '94 truck shut the fuel off on impact. Dealer showed me where to reset the pump.
You do not want fuel pumping at the accident scene.

Ummm, Cummins/Dodge combo is the most fuel efficient combo out there. Chevy usually runs a couple miles behind, with the Powerstroke bringing up the rear. And Dodge never offered an Alisson, except for back in the 60s.

funny because I test drove a 2500HD dodge with a Cummins and Allison trans about 20 months ago, Dodge paid Chevy a huge fee to use the Allison. I bought Chevy, a friend bought a Dodge, I average around 17 local, 19 hwy, he's lucky to get 15 local.

I'm sorry Robert, but you didn't. 25/3500 Dodges still use the 545RFE 5 speed automatic while 45/5500 Dodge's are using the Aisin 6 speed automatic. If the salesman told you it was an Alisson, he was lying.

As far as mileage goes, if you were testing a broke in Chevrolet against a new Cummins, then the Chev may have gotten better economy. The 6.7 Cummins also required a reflash late last year that raised economy up. Most of the guys around here are getting around 20 (bear in mind this is imperial gallons) hwy, once they've broke in. In all the years I was playing with DMaxes, Cummins, and Powerstrokes, I never saw one v8 diesel touch 20 mpg. With a proper set of injectors and the right timing advance, a straight drive 5.9 Cummins was capable of 23-24 mpg, if you kept your foot sane.

Just for arguement's sake, I've got a 97 F350 psd that I bought brand new, before ultralow sulfur fuel it avg'd 18mpg on the interstate empty and 13 pulling a decent load. Had to go to WV one time to pick up a set of steel rollers for my discbine, took backroads the whole way, 45-55mph. Filled up going out and stopped at the same station/pump on the way back. Got just a shade under 23mpg, but that was a one time deal. That truck has 4.10s, a lot of mpg has to do with the gearing and driving habits.

My next farm truck will most likely have a 5.9 Cummins, I just wish someone would have built a truck around them.

Don't forget the 07.5-09 25/3500 that are all also running the Aisin 6.

Oops, thanks for the correction. I forgot that they switched to the Aisin on all Cummins RAMs. The 545RFE is only used with gas engined 24/3500s.
