Well, got it up, as of 930 last night, and not without tribulation. Wheat, fescue, clover and bermuda, made 8 bales/acre. It did not come without cost,but money well spent. 6 is the best we've ever done before, 4x5.

So, if your getting 8 bales/acre of 4x5, would get about 6-1/2 bales/acre of 5x5.

All depends on the crop and the baler. I've put up tons of 900+ lbs 4x5 bales and now with the crop cutter 1000+ lbs 4x5s. I've also seen 5x5s that don't weigh 900lbs.

I'm gonna try and get a weight tomorrow, pulled some outta the field and transporting. This was an old hesston spring tension baler, and they are actually closer to 5.5 tall, we'll see.

All other things equal, take half the diameter, square it and multiply by Pi. When you have the 2 answers, like for a 4x5 and 4x6, subtract the smaller from the larger and you have your answer.

Quick answer from memory: 4x5 or 5x4 800#, 4x5.5 1000#, 4x6 1200#, 5x6 1600#
