Hey guys,

For those with spot spraying setups (I only use a spray gun, no booms), how long do your 12V pumps usually last? When I sprayed mesquite last season, it ran for several hours a day. I'm curious to know the lifespan of other's pump setups and their specs. Considering an upgrade when I go from a 25 gallon tank to 40-50 gallon tank...

My current one:
Flojet Duplex 2 Diaphragm 12V
1.6 gpm
7 amps
60psi

I bought a Northstar 26 gallon boomless sprayer several years ago. It runs continuously when I am broadcast spraying and it doesn't even get hot, it just kicks on every so often when I am spot spraying. The only thing I have had to replace is the pressure switch on the pump. It's outlasted the sprayer tank it came with and it looks like it's gonna outlast the current tank its on.

I don't know who makes it or the amps it uses off the top of my head.
5.5 gpm
60 psi

I've got a 25 gallon Fimco that I bought in 2002ish, still on the original pump. Bought a 65 gallon Fimco utv sprayer 2 years ago and the pump lasted a year. Go figure.

I've bought at tractor supply and amazon.

:D Best place is one that has what you want at a price that isn't out of line...

Gotta watch out for different plumbing connections. That's where I fail the most.

If you must put it up for a while, flush it good with water.

I flush the whole sprayer with this stuff:

Will also run RV antifreeze completely through the sprayer each fall before I put it up. It's cheap, and takes all of 5 minutes.

I just bought a 110 gal with a Hypro pump this morning and was told to fill the pump with the RV antifreeze when putting it up for the winter. Nice to also know about the Nutra Sol.

I run enough RV antifreeze through them til I see it come out each nozzle, but it likely gets a lot colder here than where you're at.
